Show Notes

You won't want to miss this literal "wash rags" to riches story as a local Montpelier, Ohio (population 3,500), Hometown Hero shares the secrets to her business success. Going against the odds of starting a food business (in 2010 after the economic crash) in a rural town where restaurants typically don't make it past one year of operation, Becky Freese (aka The Cookie Lady) built an ultra successful cookie business that has gone global. She bakes the best chocolate chip cookie in the world (no joke), and now ships to every state in the United States and to all parts of the world including Germany and Japan. Taste them for yourself!

Becky Freese

Becky has been married to her husband Ron for 35 years (August 2020) and is the proud mother of her 3 children, and 4 grandchildren. At the age of 10, Becky delivered the local The Bryan Times newspaper and then four years later began working as a waitress. She ended up in various restaurants for 22 years all while raising a family. Once her children were in school, she began working at a local hospital as a Unit Secretary. She moved her way up to a Surgical Services Supervisor, but at the same time, she began baking cookies out of her home to support her kid's sporting events that eventually turned into a thriving, global business called Cookies on Demand.  She celebrated her 10-year anniversary on July 13, 2020.
